While in training to become a physician Dr. Behar discovered that Psychiatry was the one medical specialty that best combined the basic and clinical sciences with the arts and humanities. Among the many areas that Psychiatry encompasses include Patient-Doctor Communication, Diagnostic and Treatment Acumen, the Neurosciences, Genetics, Pharmacology, Psychology and Child Development, Psychodynamic Theory and Psychoanalysis, Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, Sociology, History, and the Creative Arts. The great variety of scientific and intellectual thought, along with the challenges and satisfaction of patient care, provide the fuel for Dr. Behar’s daily work.
Dr.. Behar assesses and treats a wide range of psychological issues and psychiatric illnesses in children, adolescents and adults. After a comprehensive evaluation Dr. Behar makes recommendations for treatment. Treatment services he provides include Individual Therapy, Medication Management and Parent Counseling.
